Richard J. Peters

Richard J. Peters, age 59, passed away Monday, July 4, 2011, at Vista Hospital, Waukegan, IL. Richard was born in Racine on February 5, 1952, son of Joseph P. and Helen I. (Nee: Schuster) Peters.

Richard was employed by the North Shore Sanitary District for thirty-three years. He was an excellent keyboardist and also enjoyed riding his Harley over the past several years. More than anything, he cherished time spent with family and will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his mother, Helen Peters; his daughters and sons-in-law, Anne (Tade) Gerischer, Jennifer Martinez, Sarah (Luis) Delgado; his six grandchildren, Tade “LT” and Wyatt Gerischer, Adriana and Emma Martinez, Isabel and Antonio Delgado; sisters, JoAnn (James) Gilmore, Jacqueline (Ludwig) Hairapetian; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph P. Peters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 8, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1533 Erie St., with Rev. Sean Granger officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Thursday at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at the church Friday from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 10:30 a.m.
