Alvin F. Ziegenhagen

Alvin F. Ziegenhagen, age 81, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2009, at Kenosha Hospital. Alvin was born in Fond Du Lac, WI, on July 26, 1927, son of the late Alvin D. and Jeanette (Nee: Merry) Ziegenhagen.

During World War II and the Korean War Alvin served in the United States Marine Corps. In June of 1956 he was united in marriage to Eleanor J. Hengst who preceded him in death in March 2003. Alvin was employed by Racine Steel Castings for thirty-nine years until his retirement in 1996 and belonged to their “20 Year Club.” He will be sadly missed.

Survivors include his children, Todd (Dawn) Ziegenhagen of Racine, Jody Maldonado of South Carolina; his six grandchildren, Todd Jr., Nicholas, Lexy, Alyson, Shannon and Brandon; sister Barbara Bennett; sisters-in-law, Doris Wohlgemuth and LaVerne Bednar; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Edward and sister, Merlin.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, January 29, 2009, at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Charles R. Daul officiating. Private interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until time of service.
