Clara M. Gloede, age 91, passed away Thursday morning, January 8, 2009, at her residence. Clara was born August 28, 1917, daughter of the late Charles and Emma (Nee: Johnson) Hemple and was a lifelong resident of Racine. On November 2, 1945, she was united in marriage to Louis E. Gloede who preceded her in death, October 20, 1991.
Survivors include her nephews and family who provided many years of loving care to Clara: Louis (Kim) Gloede, Harold Gloede; her great-nieces, Candice and Michelle; other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brothers, Milton Hemple and Edward Hemple; sisters, Ruth Hemple, Mildred Hemple and Virginia Gloede.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, January 12, 2009, at 11 a..m. with Rev. Scott Winters officiating. Interment will follow at the Country Haven Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service. Memorials to Wheaton Franciscan Health Hospice have been suggested.
