Linda Marie Fernandez, 56, passed away from a short battle with cancer on Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare/All Saints. She was born in Kenosha on Jun 10, 1952, to Antonio and Mary (nee: Salas) Servantez, Sr. She lived most of her life in Racine. She was united in marriage to Arthur Fernandez, Sr. in Racine, on Sept. 9, 2008. She was employed for the City of Racine, in the Environmental and Wic Departments for 16 years. She was a member of Grace Church.
She was a mother to more than just her own children, she was everybody's Tia a good friend and the center of our family. She will be missed dearly by many.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur Fernandez, Sr.; children, Arthur Fernandez, Jr., Daniel Fernandez, Tina Espinoza, Joe D. Espinoza, Juan Espinoza, Joseph W. Espinoza, David Fernandez, her “other daughter,”; niece, Lisa (Sanchez) Muhammad; mother, Mary S. Servantez; grandchildren, Mirasia, Miracles, Juan, Roberto, Salina, Daniel, Niko, Kaleen, Mia, Sylvia, Tony, Raina, Evalina, Joe and Alicia; brothers and sisters, Helen Sanchez, Antonio Capiro Servantez, Paul D. (Cindy) Servantez, Felix (Gloria) Servantez, Fred R. Servantez, Rose Marie Servantez; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father; Antonio C. Servantez; and a sister, Frances P. Hernandez.
Funeral services will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home, 1212 Lathrop Ave., on Monday, February 2, 2009, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Sunday, February 1, 2009, from 1-4 p.m. and at the funeral home on Monday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
