Brianne was born on August 17, 1983, to William and Joylynn (nee, Michalski) Merwin. She grew up in Racine. She married Daniel Whitney on July 19, 2008, moving to Janesville and working as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Riverside Terrace. Brianne loved animals, caring for the elderly, writing short stories, and playing games with Dan; but most of all she loved being with family and friends.Brianne is survived by her husband Dan; her loving parents, William and Joylynn Merwin; sister, Reilly (Chris) Hage; nephew, Kody Hage; paternal grandparents, Janet and Lauren Knaus, and Judy Merwin; and her cousin, Duane Michalski and his daughter, Brittnay. She also will be greatly missed by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Steve and Brenda Whitney; her brother-in-law, Jason (Sirkku) Whitney; as well as Daniel’s grandparents, Betty Whitney, and Charles and Dorothy Samuelson. Brianne is also survived by other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Joseph and Verna Michalski; paternal grandfather, Robert Merwin; and uncle, Eugene Michalski.
Funeral services for Brianne will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2065 Geneva St., on Friday, January 16, 2009, at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Stephen Jennings officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
