Barbara A. Tuska, age 75, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2009, at her residence. Barbara was born in Kenosha, WI, on February 28, 1933, daughter of the late Alfred and Ethel (Nee: Wood) Johnsen.
On July 11, 1953, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Kenosha she was united in marriage to Gerald J. “Jerry” Tuska who preceded her in death, March 15, 2000. Barbara was employed by Kenosha Unified School District as a substitute Art Teacher for fifteen years. She was last working at Boston Store until her retirement in 2002. She and her husband Jerry also co-owned and operated Pub on Wisconsin tavern with their dear friends, Mary and Rich Winters. She enjoyed golfing, and with her artistic flair she designed many beautiful arts and crafts. Above all her devotion to caring for her family will be forever cherished. She will be deeply missed.
Survivors include her five children, Reed Tuska of Miami, FL, Scott Tuska of Key West, FL, RaeEllen (Bill) Thomson of Racine, Kyle (Kim) Tuska of Waterford and Aaron (Julie) Tuska of Cudahy; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Marion Busiteri of Oak Creek, Carol (Ed) Woerner of Cecil, WI, Bob Palen of Fort Lauderdale, FL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Funeral services will be held at Calvary Chapel, 9410 Durand Ave., on Sunday, February 1, 2009, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Robert Nettles officiating. Private interment will be held. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at Calvary Chapel on Sunday from noon until time of service.
The family extends a special thank you to Barbara’s faithful caregivers: Elizabeth Tower and Lori Duczak for their loving and compassionate care.
