Ann (Marino) Guendel

Ann Guendel, age 80, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at the Ruth Hospice Home, West Allis, WI. Born in New York City, Ann spent a large part of her life in the Midwest, having lived in Peoria, Racine and from 1981-2006 in Oak Brook, Illinois. In 2006, after the passing of her husband Tom, she relocated to Greendale to be closer to family.

Ann was a great mom, who along with her husband Tom raised three sons. She will be remembered as a kind, gentle and loving woman who always put her family first. Ann enjoyed reading, travel and her friends. Most of all, she enjoyed the times spent with her family, including her nine grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, Doug (Cathy), Rich, Steve (Joanne); a sister, Rita. In addition she has nine grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, Brett, Madeline, Ben, Brandon, Daniel, Katelyn and Bradley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom, and parents, Michael and Julia Marino.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rita Catholic Church, 4339 Douglas Ave., on Monday March 23, 2009, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Raymond Elam officiating. Private interment will be held. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church Monday from 10 a.m. until time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
