FRANKSVILLE – Wiladean ‘Gerry’ (nee: Peterson) Carney, 81, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at Ridgewood Care Center. She was born in Leopolis, WI on October 14, 1927, the daughter of Everett and Leathy (nee: Gregory) Peterson.
Gerry was a graduate of Tigerton High School in Tigerton. She was united in marriage to Harvey Carney. Gerry had been employed at Farm & Fleet in Sturtevant, retiring in 1992. She was a sports fan, loved the Packers, Badgers and Brewers. Gerry also loved to cook and made cotton candy for the local school carnivals for many years. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are her children; James Carney, Jaclyn (Rick) Behnke and Jeanne (Warren) Aiona; ten grandchildren, Rochelle, Joshua, Beth, Jennifer, Nathan, Samantha, Zachary, Jacob, Danielle and Justice; six great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Sally Peterson. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey, on June 23, 1979, son, John on November 15, 2006, three sisters and three brothers.
Services will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at 1 p.m. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday before services from 11 a.m. until time of service.
