Nancy Ann Moes, age 74, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at her residence. She was born in Racine, July 5, 1934, daughter of the late Frank and Louise (Nee: Kosterman) Miller.
Nancy attended Holy Name Grade School, graduated from St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1952” and went on to graduate from Clark College. She worked for Racine County Human Services for 35 years, retiring as supervisor of the Youth and Family Division in 2001. Nancy was a member of St. Richard’s Catholic Church. She had served on the board and was a past president of Big Brothers and Big Sisters. She also had served on the board of St. Catherine’s High School. Above all, it was time spent with her family that was most important. She will be dearly missed.
Surviving are her children, Jeffrey Moes and Michael Moes of Racine, Ann (David) Sievert of Madison; seven grandchildren, Lauren Moes (Jeremy Harrop), Katie and Nick Moes, Braden and Ryan Sievert, Parker and Zachary Moes; a great-grand daughter, Lily Harrop; sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Miller of Tucson, AZ, Katherine Miller of San Antonio, TX; special friends, Bob and Nancy Larsen; other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Col. F. Don Miller, Myron Miller, and John Gordon Miller.
A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, March 9, 2009, at noon at St. Richard Catholic Church, 1503 Grand Ave., with Reverend Ron Gramza officiating. Memorials to St. Richard’s Catholic Church or St. Catherine’s High School have been suggested.
