BURLINGTON – Nancy C. Heinen (nee: Woodward), 67, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2009, at Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington. She was surrounded by her loving family as she lost her courageous battle with cancer.
Nancy was born in Racine on May 28, 1941, to Richard and Mathilda (nee: Johnson) Woodward. She was a homemaker until entering the medical profession as a medical assistant and pharmacy technician. Nancy lived in Racine and Kenosha prior to moving to Phoenix, AZ, in 1986. She retired in 2005 and returned to Wisconsin to be near her children and grandchildren. Nancy enjoyed camping, bowling, traveling, gambling, her family, and especially helping others.
Surviving are her four children, Kimberly Bitto of Genoa City, Barbara Robers of Burlington, Marianne DeBolt of Salem and Jeffrey (Kris) Heinen of Union Grove; seven grandchildren, Jessica Barrette, Samantha and Alex Robers, Emily and Cassie DeBolt and Ryan and Sarah Heinen; three brothers, Howard Woodward of Black River Falls, Vernon (Irene) Woodward of Racine, Wayne (Marvel) Woodward of Marshfield; as well as many nieces, nephews; and special friend, Andy Gianturco of Phoenix.
Nancy was preceded in death by her brothers, Floyd, Bill, and David Woodward; sister, Joyce Woodward; half brothers, George and Glenn Woodward; and half sisters, Helen Ludvigsen and Margaret Rasmussen.
Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on March 23, 2009, for a visitation from 5-8 p.m. A service of remembrance will follow at 8 p.m. A committal service will take place in the West Lawn Memorial Park chapel on Tuesday at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to the American Cancer Society.
