Dorothy J. Anderson

Mrs. Dorothy J. Anderson, 85, passed away on Tuesday evening, March 10, 2009, at Ridgewood Healthcare Center, after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Racine on Oct. 27, 1923, the daughter of the late Andrew and Margaret Anderson. Together Margaret and Andrew had three children, Bernadine, Dorothy and Donald. She was united in marriage to William Anderson on July 15, 1960, he preceded her in death on June 19, 1992.

She worked for the cheese plant in Mayville, WI, was an assistant to Dr. Jameson and a homemaker. She enjoyed baking, traveling, crossword puzzles and crocheting. Above all, she loved having a home filled with family and friends,

She is survived by her daughter, Carol (Emil) Panyk of Racine; grandchildren, Scott Nelson of Canada, Kristin Nelson and her husband, Jimmy Rogers of Canada, Betty (Rob) Wanless, Steven (Wendy) Panyk, eight great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Nelson, a sister and a brother.

Funeral services will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home 1212 Lathrop Ave., on Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at 11 a.m. with Dr. Ma Miritz officiating. Friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Mrs. Anderson to the MDA Anderson Cancer foundation have been suggested.

The family would like to thank Hospice and Ridgewood for all the loving care they provided.
