Adeline “Addie” Melcher, 91 passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2009. She was born in Marquette, WI, the daughter of the late Edward and Ottelia (nee: Sigman) Wickner.
Mrs. Melcher was a longtime employee of the Wisconsin Bell Telephone Company. She also was a longtime member of Atonement Lutheran Church.
Surviving are her children, Charles (Nancy) Melcher, John ( Judy) Melcher, Jo Zuehlke, and Larry (Maryjane) Melcher; 10 wonderful grandchildren, Charles (Montiel) Melcher, Jeffrey Melcher, Lisa (Randy) Beebe, Kimberly (James) Davitz, Scott (Wendy) Melcher, Amanda (Keith) Darling, Brock (Penny) Melcher, Jennifer Luzack, Michelle (John) Mazur and Tyler Melcher; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Irma Jahns and Audrey Fox. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Melcher, on August 23, 1971; sisters, Ruth Fenske, Eleanor Cuzner and Esther Steinhilber; and brother, Arthur Wickner.
Private funeral services were held on Thursday with Rev. Dr. Warren Williams officiating. The family has suggested memorials to Hospice of Racine or the Becker-Shoop Center.
