Joyce Berger, age 76, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at Becker-Shoop Center. She was born in Wausau, WI, May 17, 1932, daughter of the late Carl and Lyla (Nee: Juedes) Bredow.
On November 23, 1968, at Gethsemane Lutheran Church she was united in marriage to John L. Berger who preceded her in death on June 5, 1996. Joyce was a member of First Church of God and was a past member of the Moose Lodge.
Surviving are her sons, John (Bonnie) Rossmann, Mark (Linda) Rossmann, John (Angela) Berger Jr., Kurt (Patricia) Berger; son-in-law, Jim Gruber; grandchildren, Steven, Kelli, Jennifer, and Nichole Rossmann, Vincent (Bonnie) Gruber, Victor (Pave) Gruber, Valorie and Vikki Gruber; great-grandchildren, Marianna Gutieerrez, Robert Rossmann, Faith Gruber, Gage Gruber, Ava Sturino; two sisters, Adeline (Fred) Schultz, Shirley Barth; a brother, Daniel Bredow; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; other relatives; special friends, Henry and LaVerne Dykhuis; and many other dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, LaVerne Gruber; grandson, Randy Rossmann; twin sister, JoAnne Strike; brother, Charles Lane; and brother-in-law, Larry Barth.
Funeral services will be held at the First Church of God, 1650 Lathrop Ave., on Friday, May 1, 2009, at 6 p.m. with Rev. David Andrews officiating. Private interment will be held. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Friday from 4 p.m. until time of service. Memorials to First Church of God have been suggested by the family.
