Frederick 'Fred' C. Hogue

Frederick C. Hogue, age 73, passed away Monday, April 27, 2009 at Wheaton Franciscan –All Saints Medical Center. Frederick was born in Adams-Friendship, Wisconsin, on June 22, 1935, son of the late Glenn and Mable (Nee: Garthwaite) Hogue.

Fred graduated from LaCrosse Logan High School “Class of 1955” and attended the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse. He served active duty in the United States Navy from 1955-1957 and the Navy Reserves from 1957-1960. In 1958 he was united in marriage to Sharon Hanson. On May 27, 1988, in Elm Grove, WI, he was united in marriage to Carol J. Lindblom. He was employed by Twin Disc as Quality Assurance Manager for many years.

Fred was a member of the Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church and belonged to the Menomonee Falls Jaycees. He enjoyed his time volunteering with the Boy Scouts, Junior Achievement of Racine, and serving for the REST Program for seven years. Fred was an avid sportsman who loved playing golf, football in high school and the Navy and especially enjoyed watching the Packers. Above all he treasured time spent with his family and will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his wife, Carol; his children, Elizabeth (Stephen) Samerjan, Glenn (Judy) Hogue, Mark (Lori) Hogue; his grandchildren, Maia and Zoe Samerjan, Warren Hogue, Benjamin and Madeline Hogue; his step-children, Cara (Roy) Tock, Tobin Lindblom, First Sergeant Seth (June) Lindblom, Nora (Steve) Pierce; step-grandchildren, Nathan and Ethan Tock; sister, Mary (John) Kampschroer; and brother, David (Sis) Hogue. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Perry Hogue and John Hogue; and a sister, Lucille Cantwell.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, May 2, 2009, at 11 a.m. with Reverend Kara F. Baylor officiating. Private interment will be held at the Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Town of Dover. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Memorials to the Diabetes Association or to the American Heart Association have been suggested.

The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to Wheaton Franciscan- All Saints staff. Especially Dialysis West, Dr. Brennan and Dr. Dhingra, Dr. LeSage, and the ICU nurses for their loving and compassionate care.
