Sayner, WI – Joseph O. Hegeman, age 65, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, April 5, 2009, at his residence. Joseph was born in Racine on December 4, 1943, son of the late Joseph O. and Mary P. (Nee: Flynn) Hegeman Sr.
Joseph was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1962.” He was employed by S.C. Johnson Wax for thirty-five years, retiring in 1998, and was a member of their “30-Year Club.” He also supported Ducks Unlimited. Joseph was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and wildlife. Above all he was a loving father and grandfather who will be deeply missed.
Survivors include his three sons, Jeffrey J. Hegeman (Rudy Ledesma) of Milwaukee, Michael Hegeman (Michelle) of Nekoosa, David H. (Karen) Hegeman of Racine; his four grandchildren, Amanda, Andrew, Michael and Bryana Lynn; sister, Sherryl Grauwels; uncles, Patrick Flynn and Harry (Marilyn) Flynn; dear friends, Bill and Sandy Hess; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his infant brother, William, and his loving former wife, Judith (Nee: Eckmann); and brother-in-law, John Grauwels.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, April 10, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. John D. Aiello officiating. Private interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Friday from 9 a.m. until time of service.
