Dennis was born in Racine on June 24, 1958, to Raymond and Marlene Heusdens. He attended Racine Lutheran High School and Racine Horlick High School. Dennis was formerly employed at Diversified Tooling Innovations of Racine and currently with Advanced Machine Engineering of Rockford, IL. He was a member of the Kilties Drum and Bugle Corps, the NRA, and the Harley Davidson Club. Dennis enjoyed golfing, traveling, astronomy, computers and his cats at home. He was always on hand to help anyone in need.Dennis is survived by his wife, Julie Heusdens; mother, Marlene Heusdens and her fiancé Vincent Gambuzza; sister, Debra (Wayne) Turek; niece, Nichole (Arnold) Bleisner; mother-in-law, Irene Schmidt; brother-in-law Mark (JoAnn) Schmidt; sisters-in-law, Kathy (Jim) Kaplan and Jane (Trent) Michels; niece, Kristina Schmidt; nephews, Jason (Kelly) Schmidt, Eric Schmidt and Jesse Kaplan; great-nieces., Sierra, Ella and Addison Schmidt, and Madison Bleisner; and great-nephews, Justin Schmidt and Timothy Turek. He is also survived by aunts, uncle, cousins, other relatives and many, many friends. Dennis was preceded in death by his father Raymond Heusdens; brother, David Heusdens; and father-in-law, Herbert Schmidt.
Funeral services for Dennis will be held at the funeral home on Friday, April 17, 2009, at 6 p.m. with Rev. Donald A. Johnson officiating. Interment will take place in West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Friday from 4 p.m. until the time of services. Memorials to Faith Lutheran Church, American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice have been suggested.
