Ruth C. England was born to eternal life on April 18, 2009, at the age of 97. Ruth was born in Evanston, IL, on June 27, 1911, daughter of the late Jesse and Rebecca (Nee: Osbourn) Hayman.
On September 25, 1965, in Racine she was united in marriage to George A. England, who preceded her in death September 28, 1997. She retired in 1975 from First National Bank. Ruth was a member of Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church. Above all Ruth touched many lives and will be missed by all who knew her, especially her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Ruth Ann (Hank) Miller of Racine; step-daughter, Sandra (James) Davis of Anna, IL; daughter-in-law Diana Knudson of McAllen, TX; her grandchildren, Kimberly (Kevin) Jones of Racine, Darin (Kim) Andersen of Milwaukee, Tony Davis of Anna, IL, Melissa Davis of Nashville, TN, Kristen, Karl, Rachel, and Jana of McAllen, TX; great-grandchildren, Cody and Haley Jones of Racine; nieces, nephew, and dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, George, she was preceded in death by her son, Charles “Chuck” Knudson, and three sisters.
Memorial services will be held at Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church, 1700 S. Green Bay Rd., on Friday April 25, 2009, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Kara Baylor officiating. Private interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church Friday from 10 a.m. until time of services. Memorials to the Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church Meditation Garden Fund would be appreciated.
