Franksville – Gerald L. Horner, Sr., 71, passed away at his home with his family by his side, on Saturday, November 22, 2008.
Gerald was born in Racine on December 19, 1936, to Varley James and Emma Jane (nee, Bones) Horner. He married the former Mary Zawacki in South Milwaukee on December 26, 1959. Gerald retired from Toledo Scale and Merke Displays. He enjoyed farming, traveling, raccoon hunting and his trains.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Mary Horner; children, Gerald L. Horner, Jr. and Christine (Jason T.) Horner-King; and his sisters and brother, Susan (William) Heidingsfelder, Sally Martinelli, Carol (John) Brock, Richard (Georgia) Horner and Mary Jo (Robert Horner) Hart. Gerald is also survived by many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert Courtland Horner.
Funeral services for Gerald will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 26, 2008, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
