Union Grove – Robert Francis Pfister, 88, passed away at the Wisconsin Veteran's Center, Boland Hall, in Union Grove on Saturday, November 29, 2008.
Robert Pfister was born in Racine to the late Francis and Emma (nee: Bergstrom) Pfister on November 18, 1920, and lived in Racine all his life. In Racine, he was united in marriage to Adleline D. Tessmann on January 18, 1947. She preceded him in death on December 24, 2005.
Mr. Pfister was a founding member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. He served in the United States Army in Germany during World War II. He was employed at Twin Disc for 19 years retiring in 1984. He was an outdoors man enjoying boating, fishing and camping, but most of all he was an avid motorcyclist. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle until he was 78 years of age.
Robert is survived by three children, Kathy (Richard) Pfister-Minogue of LaGrand, Oregon, George (Jennie) Pfister, and William (Mary) Pfister, both of Racine; five grandchildren, Tara, Katelyn, Jon (Molly), Julie (Scott), and Jeremy (Abby); eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dick (Gwen) Pfister of Virgina and James Pfister of Racine; one sister, Helen (Raymond) Kucharski of Arizona; one sister-in-law, Joan Pfister; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Francis Pfister.
Funeral services will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home on Thursday evening, December 4, 2008, at 6 p.m. with Rev, David Behling officiating. Interment with full Military Honors will be held at the Southern Wisconsin Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove on Friday morning, December 5, 2008, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 4 until 6 p.m.
