Robert E. “Bob” Vogel, 83, passed away peacefully at his residence, on Tuesday November 25, 2008, with his family at his side. Bob was born in Jefferson on April 18, 1925, the son of Linus and Coletta (nee: Rueth) Vogel. He was united in marriage to Margaret L. (nee: Carlino) Brusha on January 27, 1973.
Bob retired from Racine Unified School District after more than 30 years of service. He found great enjoyment in bowling, in which he participated in for more than 40 years. Bob also enjoyed walking at Regency Mall and working with his hands, especially woodworking which he did for many years. Bob was a wonderful husband, devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; daughter, Terri (Bill) Barke of California; step-children, Linda (Andy) Georgian, also of California, Michael (Maria) Brusha of Italy and Mary Ann Fraga of Racine; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jerry (Dorothy) Vogel and Clarence Vogel all of Jefferson. Bob is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends; including his special dogs, Candy and Chewy.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Krumin; son, John Vogel, and his parents.
Funeral services honoring Bob’s life will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Sunday, November 30, 2008, at 3 p.m. with Rev. John Aiello officiating. Private burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Sunday from 1 p.m. until service time.
Memorials to the American Cancer Society have been suggested by the family.
