KENOSHA – Verna I. (nee: Andersen) Struble, 92, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2008, at Kenosha Hospital and Medical Center. She was born on April 17, 1916, the daughter of Hans and Bertha (nee: Nielsen) Andersen. She was a 1934 graduate, the first in her family to graduate high school. On April 18, 1980, Verna was united in marriage to George Struble in Zapata, Texas. She worked for over 10 years at National Foods as a delicatessen manager. Verna was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church for over six years.
Surviving are her children, Patricia (Don) McCann of Show Low, AZ, Dolores Barnett of Kenosha, William (Anne) McGrath of Boston, MA, Kathleen (Peter) Clouthier of Racine; sister, Margaret Jensen of Kenosha; 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Verna is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Verna was preceded in death by her husbands; Joseph A. McGrath, Charles Krug, George Struble; sister, Alice Jensen; brothers, Julian Andersen, Alton Andersen and Alvin Andersen.
Funeral services will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church, 1700-89th St., on Tuesday, November 4, 2008, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Green Ridge Cemetery. There will be a visitation at the church on Tuesday before services from 10 a.m. until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial to St. Joseph’s Nursing Home or Fellowship Baptist Church has been suggested.
