Paul L. Woodward Sr., 49, passed away at Burlington Memorial Hospital on Monday, November 10, 2008.
Paul was born in Racine to Wayne R. and Elizabeth A. (nee: Ziolkowski) Woodward on August 25, 1959. He lived in Racine his whole life. He was united in marriage to Norma M. Swanson on December 1, 1979.
Mr. Woodward was an Open Pantry manager for many years. He then became a professional carpenter until medical limitations got in his way. He was an avid fisherman, skilled craftsman and a member of the Carpenter's Union.
Paul is survived by his wife of 29 years, Norma; two sons, Paul L. (Danielle) Woodward Jr. and Thomas Woodward; his father and step-mother, Wayne R. (Marvel) Woodward; six brothers and three sisters; Scott (Barbi) Woodward, LuAnn (Ron) Hale, Theresa (Raul) Guzman, Tony Woodward, Todd (Lisa) Woodward, Kevin Woodward, Stephen Woodward (Donna Friso), Mary Woodward and James Woodward (Michelle Erdman); his God-daughter, Cristina Medina; his in-laws, Helen Swanson, Joyce (Ed) Tabor, Clyde (Laurie) Swanson Jr., and Joseph Cottonaro; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Heck; his in-laws, Clyde (Faith) Swanson Sr.; his uncle Leonard W. Ziolkowski Jr.; and a sister-in-law, Margo Cottonaro.
Funeral services will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home on Saturday, November 15, 2008, at 12:30 p.m. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Friday evening, November 14, 2008, from 5 until 8 p.m. and on Saturday morning from 11:30 a.m. until service time. According to Paul's wishes, he will be cremated. Memorials to the family have been suggested.
