Margaret M. (nee: Junas) Brodek-Carrier, 95, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2008, at Becker Shoop Center.
She was a lifelong resident of Racine, born on June 25, 1913, the daughter of Joseph and Antonia (nee: Smetana) Junas. Margaret was a long-time member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. She had been employed for many years at Feige’s Women’s Apparel and had been a volunteer with St. Mary’s Auxiliary.
Margaret is survived by her son: Richard (Diana) Brodek; daughter, Cynthia Ladzinski; daughter-in-law, Paulene (Walter) Fleuchaus; six grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends, including special friend, Marge Smith. Margaret was preceded in death by husbands, Harold Carrier in May of 2002 and Cornelius Brodek in November of 1984; son, Gerald A. Brodek in October of 1994; two brothers; two sisters and her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring St., on Monday, November 10, 2008, at 12:30 p.m. with Rev. Bill Dietzler officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Hwy 32. There will be a visitation on Monday at church from 11:45 a.m. until Mass time at 12:30 p.m. Please use east entrance of church for visitation and funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church have been suggested by the family.
