Helen P. Lieungh, age 89, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2008, at her residence. Helen was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, on December 5, 1918, daughter of the late Frank and Hilda (Nee: Univich) Stellman.
Helen was united in marriage to Thor Lieungh who preceded her in death on January 20, 1986. She and her husband owned and operated Thor's Arco for many years. Helen was an active volunteer for the American Cancer Society and for St. Mary’s Auxiliary for over thirty years. She enjoyed playing bridge and had a great love for her dogs. Above all she treasured time spent with her family and will be deeply missed.
Survivors include her three sons and daughter, Jeffrey H. Lieungh of Chicago, IL, Dale H. (Andrea Lynn) Lieungh of Somers, WI, Bradford T. (Julia) Lieungh of Delafield, WI, Leslie A. Lieungh of Racine; her seven grandchildren, Lisa Turner, Ryan Lieungh, Amanda Lieungh, Bryan (Jamie) Lieungh, Jamie (Thor) Kupkovits, Jennifer (Thomas) Adams, Dagmar (Mitchell) Keller; five great-grandchildren; brother, Frank H. Stellman of Racine; brother-in-law, William Fritchen of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Lauren Hueffner; and two sisters, Emily Pateke and Alice Fritchen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Ave., on Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Entombment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. Memorials to St. Lucy Catholic Church, or please reach out to someone in need, have been suggested.
The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Richard Pierce-Ruhland, daughter-in-law Cynthia Lieungh, Bob Purdy and Hilde Steinke for their loving and compassionate care.
