Albert A. Quinn, 61, passed away at W.F.H.-All Saints on Friday, September 11, 2009.
He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on October 1, 1947, the son of Isham and Susie (Darling) Quinn, and was raised in Birmingham, Alabama, moving to Chicago as a young man. Albert was united in marriage to Judi Roang in Racine on June 24, 1972, at Holy Communion Lutheran Church.
He graduated from UW-Parkside, class of “1980” with a degree in communications. Albert served in the United States Marines Corps from 1968 until 1970 and continued his military service in the Marine Reserves.
He was a longtime member of Holy Communion Lutheran Church and served for many years as an usher. Albert owned and operated Vinyl Touch Siding and Home Improvement since 1994. His main passion in life was people, in the cultivation of family, friends and stories.
Albert is survived by his wife of 37 years, Judi; son, Ryan (Katie) Quinn; daughter, Johanna Quinn all of New York City;, son, Derick Hill and two grandsons, Derick Hill Jr. and Allen Charles Hill, all of Long Beach, Calif.
He is further survived by twin brother, James (Grace) Quinn of Las Vegas, N.V.; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. Albert was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Larry and Charles Quinn; and one sister, Betty Jean Perryman.
Memorial services will be held at Holy Communion Lutheran Church, 2000 W. 6th St., on Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Kathy Brown officiating. There will be a memorial visitation at church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family or to one’s favorite charity have been suggested.
