Stella Wyma, 96, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2009, at Washington Manor, Looking into Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. Hebrew 12:2
Stella was born in Friesland, Netherlands, on April 9, 1913, the daughter of Lipke and Cornelia (nee: Doktor)Wyma. In August 1920, the family moved to the United States and settled in Racine. They became members of the Christian Reformed Church. Stella worked at Massey Ferguson for 28 years, retiring in 1976.
Stella is survived by a niece, Sue (Donald) Jaeck; nephews, Lowell (Carol) Wyma, Charles (Carolyn) Wyma and Howie Latshaw; and special friend, Peter Bosha. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, George, in 1991; sister-in-law, Marguerite, in 1998; and a niece, Lois Latshaw.
Funeral services will be held at Racine Christian Reformed Church, 900 Illinois St., on Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Doug Aldrink officiating. Private burial will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday before services, from 10 a.m. until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. John's Lutheran School or Racine Christian School have been suggested.
