Rita A. Honecker

Rita A. Honecker, age 94, passed away Monday, September 28, 2009, at the Golden Living Center, Kenosha, WI. She was born in Racine on June 16, 1915, daughter of the late William and Belle (Nee: Chapman) Honecker. Rita’s parents passed away while Rita was young and she was raised by her grandmother, Mary Chapman.

Rita was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School. She was an executive secretary for many years at Haas Enterprise. Rita was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Survivors include her cousins, John “Jack” T. Chapman of Racine; second cousins, Mary L. Chapman of Racine, Michael (Mary) Chapman of Wenham, MA, Tom (Virginia) Chapman, John S. (Terry) Chapman, Steve Chapman, all of Racine; niece, Carol Honecker of Waukesha; nephew, Bill Honecker of FL; other relatives and many dear friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, October 2, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Ave., with Rev. Jeff Thielen officiating. Private interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Kinzie Avenue. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of Mass.
