Franksville – Edward T. Checki, 74, passed away at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee on Wednesday, September 30, 2009.
Ed was a Millwright by trade, working 29 years for GM/Delphi, retiring in 2004. He loved spending time with family and friends, golfing, bowling, fishing, stock car racing and showing ponies, but flying planes was his real passion. Ed had a great sense of humor, a love and caring for people, dogs, equines, a brilliant mind, a myriad of talents which encompassed inventing, an incredible work ethic and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Ed is survived by his wife, Marilyn J. Checki; children, Mary White, Karen Checki, Debra (Scott) Gray, Daniel Checki, Michael (Karen L.) Checki, Steve (Lori) Checki and David Checki; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret McNeese; brothers, George (Millie) Checki, James (Helen) Checki and Ronald (Kris) Checki; and a sister-in-law, Patsy Rubel. Ed is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Memorial services for Edward will be held at the funeral home on Friday, October 9, 2009, at 7:30 p.m. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Friday from 5 p.m. until the time of services.
