Ralph Peter Ruetz Sr.

Ralph Peter Ruetz Sr., age 70, passed away peacefully at home on September 3, 2009, after a long illness surrounded by his loving family. Ralph was born October 10, 1938, son of the late Jerome and Mary (Nee: Kokke) Ruetz.

Ralph was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and a longtime resident and business owner of Racine Taverns including: Tubbys, Snoopys, The Pussycat Lounge and Backstop. He honorably served our country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War from 1954-1959. He was a lifelong member of the AMVETS, Marine Corps League, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion. Above all he was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be deeply missed.

Ralph was married to Judith Rothenburger who preceded him in death. Surviving are their children, Ralph Ruetz Jr. of FL, Tammy Booth of FL, Debbie Smith of Racine, Dolores Avila of Franksville, and Lynn Brinkmann of Racine. In 1993 he was united in marriage to Joyce Iseini. Surviving are his stepchildren, Fatima Iseini of SC and Malik Iseini of Lake Geneva; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one on the way; sister, Mary Peasley of WI, Dolores Christy of WI, Robert Ruetz of WI, Patricia Brown of TN; Great Aunt, Monica Kokke of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph; granddaughter, Charmane Ostergaard; grandson, Jeremiah Ostergaard; and brother, Jerome Jr.

A Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at 6 p.m. Interment with full military honors will be held at the Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Cemetery, Town of Dover. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until time of service.
