Ann (Houtz) Charnon

Sheboygan, WI -- Ann Charnon, age 98, passed away Saturday morning May 14, 2011, at the Morningside Health Center in Sheboygan, WI. Ann was born in Racine on March 15, 1913, daughter of the late George and Emma (nee: Lawpark) Houtz.

On April 9, 1932, at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church in Racine, she was united in marriage to Francis J. “Frank” Charnon. Together they shared fifty-nine beautiful years before he passed away on their anniversary, April 9, 1991.

Ann was a longtime devoted member of St. Rita Catholic Church and a former president of their Christian Mothers group. She also was a former member and president of the Secular Order of St. Augustine and St. Monica’s Guild. Ann was an avid gardener and will be best remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her sons, Donald (Sandra) Charnon of Cleveland, WI, Frank Charnon of Mequon, WI; six grandchildren, Donald Jr. (Patricia) Charnon of Oneida, Michael (Lori) Charnon of Manitowoc; Brian (Janna) Charnon of New London, Wendy Charnon of Manitowoc, Richard Charnon of Racine, Jeffrey (Nitta) Charnon of West Bend; two step-grandchildren, Samuel and Stephen Cichon; great-grandchildren, Lystra, Christa, Jacob, Jesse, Mia , Murphy, Trey and Noah Charnon; sister-in-law, Beatrice Houtz of Somers; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband Frank, Ann was also preceded in death by her son, Fr. Allen Charnon O. S. A.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Rita Catholic Church, 4339 Douglas Ave., Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Kevin Mullins OSA officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m.
