Victor S. Frangopoulos fell asleep on Saturday, May 14, 2011. On September 11, 1935, he was born to the late Spiros and Sophia Frangopoulos in Aliquippa, PA.
Victor graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering. For twenty-eight years, he was employed and retired from Modine Manufacturing Company. Victor was a member of the Kimissis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church, served on the parish council and worked the Greek Festival. He was a member of Modine’s “20 Year Club.” He enjoyed golfing and received great satisfaction in completing different projects.
Survivors include his wife, Claudette, of forty-five years; three children, Maria (Joe) Rivest, Victor (Patti) Frangopoulos, and Renee (Kent) Haefs; six grandchildren, Gabriella, Matthew, and Nicholas Frangopoulos, Luke, Andrew, and Lauren Haefs; brother, Angelo (Pat) Frangopoulos; sister, Mary (Chris) Mantzavinos; nieces, nephews, Godchildren; cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 20, 2011, at 10 a.m. at the Kimissis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church, 1335 S. Green Bay Road, Hwy 31, with Rev. John Ketchum officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Thursday at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. (Trisagion Service at 7 p.m.). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kimissis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church.
