With his loving family by his side, Peter Nekrosius, age 85, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at his residence. Peter was born in Lithuania on July 27, 1925.
On August 27, 1973, Peter was united in marriage to Bernice Kuliavas at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Racine, where he was a longtime member and member of their choir. He was employed as a carpenter with Associated Industrial Contractors until his retirement in 1990. An avid writer, Peter was published twice in Lithuania for his autobiography and his book of poetry. A lover of music, he also enjoyed playing the mandolin in his younger years. Above all, Peter will be best remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother and dear friend.
Survivors include his loving wife of nearly thirty-eight years, Bernice; three sons; and two daughters-in-law; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Maryte and Olese both of Lithuania.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Richard Catholic Church, 1503 Grand Ave., on Friday, May 27, 2011, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Ronald J. Gramza officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church Friday from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m. Memorials to Lithuanian Children’s Orphanage have been suggested.
