Rita M. Bradley, age 84, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2011, at Ridgewood Care Center. Rita was born in Racine, April 21, 1927, daughter of the late Nicholas and Frances M. (Nee: Matterer) Schuit.
On December 28, 1946, she was united in marriage to Warren H. Bradley, who preceded her in death, February 14, 1985. Rita retired in 1990 from Western Publishing Company after twenty five years of service. She was a longtime member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Not only was Rita a huge Packer fan, she also loved reading, solving crossword puzzles, playing cards with the poker club, cribbage and traveling. More than anything she cherished time with her family. She will be deeply missed.
Survivors include her children, Michael J. (Patricia) Bradley of Reedsburg, WI, Roxann M. Pitts of Racine, Mark Bradley of Wild Rose, WI, Joseph P. Bradley of Racine; her grandchildren, Chris Smolko, Erick (Heather) Bradley, Scott (Stacey) Bradley, Ryan Bradley, Nick Bradley, Jonathan Bradley; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Joan (Charles) Jackson of Wilmont, WI, Carol Hall of Racine; sister-in-law, Shirley (Eugene) Mattie; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Monsignor William Schuit; son-in-law, Edward Pitts; daughter-in-law, Elaine Bradley; and brother-in-law, Robert Bradley.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 26, 2011, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring St., with Rev. William Dietzler officiating. Entombment will be held at Calvary Garden Crypts. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of Mass. Memorials to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church or the VFW Post 1391 have been suggested.
