Robert William Stone

Robert W. Stone, 78, went home to be with his Lord at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare – All Saints on Wednesday, May 11, 2011.

Robert was born in Racine on February 17, 1933, to Gilbert and Emma (nee: Blask) Stone and lived all of his life in Racine. On July 12, 1969, he was united in marriage to Patricia Hare at Racine Bible Church.

Mr. Stone was a former employee of Walker Manufacturing, retiring in 1995 after 40 years of service. He was a member of Racine Bible Church for 50-plus years where he served in the sports ministry and on the Missionary Committee. He was also the Financial Secretary for 20-plus years. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers.

Robert is survived by his wife, Pat; his twin brother, Richard (Yvonne) Stone; his sister, Carol (Bill) Beresford; a nephew and two nieces, Randy (Melinda) Beres of Fort Myers, FL, Barbara (Jerome) Daanen of Racine and Effie Stone of Denver, CO; grandnieces and grandnephews, Joshua Beres of Colorado Springs, CO, Zoe and Zachary Beres of Fort Myers, FL, and McKenzie Daanen of Racine; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at Racine Bible Church, 12505 Spring St., on Monday, May 16, 2011, at 11 a.m. with Pastor John Miesel officiating. Interment will follow at Mound Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Please direct memorials to the Racine Bible Church Building Fund.
