Phillip E. Caswell

Phillip E. Caswell, age 89, passed away Friday May 13, 2011, at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee. Phillip was born in Minneapolis, MN, July 24, 1921, son of the late Arthur and Mildred (nee: Green) Caswell.

During World War II, Phillip proudly served in the U.S. Merchant Marines and the U.S. Navy while stationed in the Pacific Theater. On August 28, 1948, he was united in marriage to the former Jean Mason and they shared sixty-three wonderful years together. Phillip was a loving and devoted husband who said “My hobby is my wife Jean.” He was employed with Rexnord Mfg. from 1949 until his retirement in 1987. Phillip was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his wife, Jean; his four children, Barbara Cahall of Racine, Donald Caswell of Seattle, WA, James (Debbie) Caswell of Franklin Park, Judy Caswell of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Christopher Cahall, Ashley (Brian) Frieble, Amber Caswell, Aldo Camarano, Matthew Caswell; great-grandchildren, Ava and Joey Frieble; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Caswell of St. Paul, MN, Darlene Caswell, both of Milwaukee; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Phillip was also preceded in death by his three brothers, his twin Donald, and Clinton and Richard.

Funeral services and interment with full Military Honors will be held at the Southern Wisconsin veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Hwy C, Town of Dover, Monday, May 23, 2011, at noon with Rev. Brad Van Fossen officiating.
