Joan Pfeifer, 63, passed away in the company of her family on Wednesday, May 25, 2011. She was born in Woodstock, IL, on July 1, 1947, to Arthur H. and Marion E. (nee: Janke) Henning.
She lived most of her life in Racine. She graduated from Washington Park High School in 1967. She was a nurse’s aide at St. Luke’s Hospital and Westview Nursing Home. She retired to care for her family. She was a member of the PTA and was active in the Cub Scouts. She was a private person, yet enjoyed life, a caring and unmaterialistic person, putting others before her. Most importantly she enjoyed her family and friends. The pride of her life is her grandson, Zachary.
Joan is survived by two sons, James (Stacy) Pfeifer and Arthur (Tracy) Pfeifer; ten grandchildren, Justin, Dustin, Cameron, Austin, Brandon, Zachary, Melissa, Jerry, Amanda Shane; one great-granddaughter, Paige; two brothers, Chuck (Sharon) Henning, Rick (Jeanne) Henning; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marion E. Henning.
Per Joan’s wishes she has been cremated and a private service will be held.
