Caledonia – Brian L. Langrehr, 48, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare – All Saints on Friday, May 27, 2011.
Brian was born in Racine to Carol Jean Langrehr and the late Lloyd Richard Langrehr on May 30, 1962. He lived in St. Joseph, MI, for 16 years and moved back to Racine for the past two years.
Brian attended Washington Park High School and was employed at Careers Industries. He was a loving and giving person and had concern for others rather than himself. He took people's interests and painted special pictures for them. Brian participated in the Special Olympics in Michigan and was a huge Chicago Cubs fan. He enjoyed bowling, ceramics, art, listening to music and watching sports. He loved his dog, Onyx, who would wait for Brian every day to come home from work.
Brian is survived by his mother and step-father, Carol (Theodore) Keener; three sisters, Diane Shufelt, Barbara (Michael) Orre and Brenda (Willem) van Woudenberg; four nieces, Raina (Gaetano) Salvo, Alannah Orre, Natalie Orre and Marissa van Woudenberg; four nephews, Leland Shufelt, Jerrid Orre, Kyle Curtiss and Craig van Woudenberg; six great-nieces and nephews; a good friend, Dr. Wilson Mburu; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his aunt, Joyce Kashuba.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation at the Wilson Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, May 31, 2011, from 4 - 7 p.m. with a short vigil ceremony to follow. Interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park on Wednesday morning, June 1, 2011, at 10 a.m. Memorials in Brian’s honor may be directed to the Special Olympics.
The Keener family would like to extend a special thank you to all the doctors and nurses involved in Brian’s care, especially those on the 2nd floor, for their kindness and compassion of Brian’s needs.
