She lived and taught the 4-H motto: "To make the best better." Excellent, self-taught seamstress and quilt maker: taught tailoring, sewing, cooking 27 years at Gateway Technical College; Quilting classes and Doll Club at Sew ‘N Save, 4-H Quilting Leader, Capsule College, co-owner of The Cloth Horse. Lifelong member of First United Methodist Church, Board of Trustees, chaired annual Church Bazaar, Director Methodist Youth Fellowship, Happy Quilters, United Methodist Women.
Above all, she devoted her life to her family and to helping youth. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be deeply missed.

-Jessica Radtke Punzel & family
Aunt Wayne really was a nice person. And I will miss her very very much.
Of Wayne Marie's many accomplishments and recognitions, one of her greatest is as mother of and inspiration to Judith Schulz, who continues her mother's legacy of service and dedication, domestic and pedagogical arts, and of pumping energy into every relationship or organization she joins.
Judith had the privilege and burden of continuously caring for Wayne throughout her final season of life. All who loved Wayne owe Judith gratitude. There is no replacing Wayne, though Judith succeeds her as yet another remarkable woman of her families' pioneer spirit.
