Adam Rossi

Adam Rossi, age 82, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at his residence. Adam was born in Montegallo, Italy, March 22, 1927, son of the late Antonio and Pasqualina (Nee: Virgili) Rossi and has been a resident of Racine since 1945 at the age of 18.

On June 30, 1951, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church he was united in marriage to Eva M. Ialongo. Adam was employed by J.I. Case Company for thirty-eight years, retiring in 1985. He was a longtime member of St. Lucy Catholic Church and Roma Lodge. In his younger years he enjoyed flying pigeons with his son and belonged to the Pigeon Club. More recently he took great pride in his vegetable and flower gardens. Adam also loved sharing his homemade wines and vegetables with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Eva; his son, Jeffrey (Charlene) Rossi of South Milwaukee, WI; his granddaughters, Elisa (Greg) Place of Sheboygan, WI, Angela Garcia of Oak Creek, WI; his three great-grandchildren, Vincent, Richard and Kenyon; two brothers, Nello (Adriana) Rossi, Ermete (Delia) Rossi, all of Italy; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ernie (Mary) Rossi; and sister, Rosina (Francesco) Paternesi.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 30, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Ave., with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Garden Mausoleum, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Sunday at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. and Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of Mass. Memorials to the family have been suggested.
