Lucyanna (nee: Bergsma) Kramer, 84, went to her Heavenly Father on Monday, November 23, 2009. She was a lifelong resident of Racine, born on April 10, 1925, the daughter of John and Johanna (nee: Vlaardingerbroek) Bergsma.
Lucyanna was united in marriage to Cornelius Kramer on June 20, 1947. She was a graduate of William Horlick High School. Lucyanna was a lifetime member of Racine Christian Reformed Church. She was also an active member of Coffee Break Bible Study Ministry and a faithful supporter of Racine Christian School. Prior to her marriage she was an administrative assistant for St. Luke’s School of Nursing. She enjoyed knitting, reading and singing in the church choir. Lucyanna will be remembered as a devoted wife and loving mother.
Surviving is her beloved husband, Cornelius; their children, Kenneth (Nancy) Kramer of Crown Point, IN, Karen (Ron) Vrieze of Inver Grove Hts., MN, Kathleen (Jerre) Jordahl of Ironton, MN, Kristine Noe, Karlton (Cindi) Kramer both of Racine and Klayton (Lara) Kramer of Cumming, GA. She will be sadly missed by her 21 precious grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Tennie (Tom) DeGroot; two brothers, Dr. Derke (Doris) Bergsma and Rev. Herb (Sally) Bergsma; sister-in-law, Marge Bergsma, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Lucyanna was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Rev. John Bergsma; sisters, Johanna Nicholson and Petronella Geshay; and a granddaughter, Kelli Ann Kramer.
Funeral services will be held at Racine Christian Reformed Church, 900 Illinois St., on Wednesday, November 25, 2009, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Doug Aldrink officiating. Burial will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. There will be a visitation at Sturino Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and at church on Wednesday before services from 10 a.m. until service time. Memorials to Racine Christian School Endowment Fund have been suggested.
