Mary L. Pietsch, 64, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, November 10, 2009.
Mary was born in Fort Worth, TX, on August 18, 1945, to John R. and Melvina (nee: Hullinger) Allred. She was united in marriage to Richard Pietsch; he preceded her in death on April 29, 1995. Mary worked for the telephone company in various positions until her retirement in 1996.
She was an avid reader and shared her love of books as a tutor with the Racine Literacy Council. Mary volunteered over 900 hours and was very proud of the awards she received for her volunteer work with the Racine Literacy Council. She also enjoyed her Tuesday Morning bowling league.
Mary is survived by her sisters and brothers in law, Anna (C.G.) Collins, Charlene (Bud) Ohm and Kathy Allred; nephews and niece, Michael Collins, Greg Ohm, Melissa (Steve) Martel and Jeff Ohm; great-nieces and nephews, Stephanie Collins, Blake and Bailey Ohm, Shane Martel and Jeff, Jr. and Alexandra Ohm; great-great-niece, Madison Mclain; brother-in-law, George Kapralian; goddaughter, Camille Vaughn; and extended family members Julie and Chris. She is also survived by many special friends. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Pauline Kapralian; and mother-in-law, Sylvia Pietsch.
Funeral services for Mary will be held at the funeral home on Friday, November 20, 2009, at 7 p.m. Private interment will take place. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Friday from 5 p.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Racine Literary Council or the American Lung Association have been suggested.
