Johann “Hans” Paul, 89, passed away on Saturday November 21, 2009, at Ridgewood Care Center.
Johann was born on February 7, 1920, to the late Michael and Maria (nee: Frintz) Paul in Johannisdorf, Romania. He came to Racine in 1952 and married Amy (nee: Rae) Paul in 1954. Johann was a veteran of WWII, and a bricklayer for over 30 years until his retirement in 1982. Johann was also a member of the Racine Bible Church since 1979, where he sang in the choir and worked with a men’s group fixing things needing attention around the church.
Mr. Paul is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Amy Paul; one sister, Regina Paul; and a brother, Andreas Paul. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Maria Frintz and Katarina Paul; two nephews, Johann Frintz and Michael Frintz; and a niece, Hermine Schuller.
Funeral services for Johann Paul will be at the Racine Bible Church, 12505 Spring St., on Monday, November 30, 2009, at 11 a.m. with Rev. John Miesel officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends can meet with the family at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Monday. Memorials may be directed to Racine Bible Church Building fund or Ridgewood Care Center.
