John Stanley Matson

John Stanley Matson, 75, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints on Sunday, November 8, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer.

John was a survivor. He survived a 40’ fall which broke his back and fought through cancer for the past ten years. John enjoyed the Packers and Badgers, loved to hunt, fish, a good cigar, to make people laugh, letting people know how many shopping days until Christmas, but most of all he loved his wife, children and grandchildren.

Matson, Dawn (Tim) Prust, Jordan Matson, Joshua Matson, Scott Matson, Jeremiah (Ali) Matson, George Matson, Marina Matson, Savannah Schatzman and Buddy Ladwig; great-grandchildren, Isabella Matson, Maddox Matson and Jaxson Prust; and his sister, Joyce Schneider. John is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sally Frost; and brothers-in-law, Clarence Schneider and Art Frost.
