Burnice 'Bill' H. Hiott

Burnice “Bill” H. Hiott, age 85, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2009, at his residence in Bradenton, FL. Bill, formerly of Racine, was born in Charleston, SC on April 7, 1924, to Cameron and Renee (Nee: Hiers) Hiott.

Bill married the former Catherine Kopriva in Milwaukee on February 16, 1945. She preceded him in death on May 16, 2004. Bill served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Submarine Service in the Pacific. He was employed by Don Hutson Chevrolet and Cadillac for 12 years and for Norick Brothers for 20 years, retiring in 1989. Bill was a life member of Submarine Veterans of World War II, a life member of the DAV Racine Chapter 9 and the Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his sons and daughter-in-law, Daniel Hiott of Orland Park, IL, James (Jamie) Hiott of Lewis Center, OH; his daughter, Carolyn Revay of Lodi, CA; granddaughters, Catherine (Dave) Baumback, Danielle (Ben) Delph, Jennifer (Rick) Halligan, Shannon Hiott, and Lana Hiott; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Cameron Hiott Jr. of Jacksonville, FL. Bill is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services followed by full military honors will be held Friday, December 4, 2009, at noon at the funeral home with Rev. Brad Van Fossen officiating. Entombment will be held at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Milwaukee, WI. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
