Ronald G. Meyer, 76, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare on Thursday, November 12, 2009.
Ronald was born in Racine on January 16, 1933, to Norbert and Ovida (nee: Propsum) Meyer. He served in the United States Air Force from 1951 until 1955. Ronald was a firefighter with the City of Racine for over 25 years. He was a pilot and flight instructor. Ronald co-owned Air Racine and enjoyed flying, especially to Florida. He also liked to spend time on the lake fishing and snowmobiling.
He is survived by his children, Kevin (Theresa) Meyer, Kerry Meyer and Kenneth Meyer; grandchildren, Heather (Jeff) Alvarez, Samantha Meyer, Brittany Meyer, Kenneth Meyer II, Aaron Meyer and Kylie Rivers; great-grandson, Jeffrey Joseph Alvarez; and nephews, Jeffrey and Jim Clementi. Ronald is also survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Dolores Clementi.
Funeral services for Ronald will be held at the funeral home on Monday, November 16, 2009, at 7 p.m. Interment will take place in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home Monday from 5 p.m. until the time of services. Memorials to Racine Lutheran High School have been suggested.
Ronald’s family would like to thank the Wheaton Franciscan Hospice and nurses who cared for him during his illness, especially Corrine.
