Arlene M. (Brill) Olson

Arlene M. Olson, age 82, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2009, at Ridgewood Health Care Center. Arlene was born in Racine, March 20, 1927, daughter of the late Alfred E. and Ina (Nee: Sloan) Brill.

Arlene was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1945.” On June 26, 1948, at St. Rose Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Donald G. Olson. She was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Ladies, St. Vincent de Paul, St. Catherine’s Guild, and the Catholic Woman’s Club. Arlene was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed bowling, golfing and playing cards. Arlene had a passion for traveling throughout the states, Europe, Mexico, Canada and South America. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her husband, Donald; her son, Kenneth R. Olson; her daughters, Julie J. (Patrick) Pauly, Mari E. Olson; her four grandchildren, Jamie (Alex) Ames, Sara Windhorst, Michael Freund, Anna Freund; sister-in-law, Marilyn F. Braun; brother-in-law, George Tentcher; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Brian C. Olson; her stepmother, Augusta (Nee: Harder) Brill; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, George F. (Frances M.) Olson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at 6 p.m. with Rev. Alan Bratkowski officiating and assisted by Deacon Russell Missureli. Private interment will be held. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Wednesday at the church from 4:30 p.m. until time of Mass. Memorials to St. Edward Catholic Church have been suggested.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the caregivers at Ridgewood Care Center for the loving care they provided.
