Ann (Metzger) Covelli

With her devoted husband at her side, Ann Covelli passed way peacefully at Franciscan Villa on December 1, 2009. She was born in Racine, January 3, 1922, daughter of the late William and Kuni (Nee: Vogel) Metzger.

On July 3, 1947, at St. Joseph Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Mario G. Covelli. Ann was employed by Wheary Trunk and was the manager of Werners Cleaners for over 30 years. She was a lifetime member of St. Joseph's Church. She was a devoted wife, aunt, and sister and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Mitch; nieces and nephew, Jo Anne Barranco of Racine, Carol (William) Haigh of Gilbert, AZ, Patricia Robash, Mark (Terri) Barranco, all of Racine; sister-in-laws, Susan Metzger and Viola Metzger, both of Racine; as well as numerous other nieces and nephew and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers Fred (Mary) Metzger, Ben (Rose) Metzger, Edward and Albert Metzger; and sister Charlotte (Joseph) Barranco.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, December 7, 2009, at 10:30 a.m.at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1533 Erie St., with Rev. John D. Aiello officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Monday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. Memorials to St. Joseph Catholic Church have been suggested.

The family wishes to extend a thank you to the staff at Franciscan Villa for the loving care given to Ann.
