Joseph Cacciotti

Joseph Cacciotti, age 80, passed away Wednesday, December 09, 2009, at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center, Milwaukee, WI. Joseph was born in Racine, WI, on October 28, 1929, son of the late Joseph and Margarite (Nee: Bozzacco) Cacciotti . He was a longtime resident of Racine.

Mr Cacciotti served four years in the USAF during the Korean Conflict. He was formerly employed by John Oster Manufacturing, Rajo Motors Corp, and retired from the Racine Water Utility. In 1954 he was united in marriage to Irene Rusniak, who preceded him in death in 1992. Joseph was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and American Legion Post 310.

Survivors include his children, Linda (Tony) Meredith, Frank (Janine Cummings) Cacciotti, Joann (Robert) Payne, Joseph (Diane) Cacciotti, all of Racine, Kathy Lichtig of Michigan; thirteen grandchildren, Chris (Pat) O’Donnell, Tony T. Meredith, Frank (Patty) Cacciotti, Antoinette (Jason) Rich, Margaret Meyer, Brian (Lisa) Payne, Sherie (Jason) Latva, Lisa Payne, Wendy (Joel) Curran, Stacy Cacciotti, Jennifer Cacciotti, Ronda (Scott) McLeod, Bryce Lichtig,; six great-grandchildren, Patrick and Brendan O’Donnell, Cody Lichtig, Jacob Johnson, Adrianna Rich and Andrew Payne; sister, Nancy DiCastri, sister-in-law, Mary Wahlen; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his infant son, Christopher; and his daughter, Carol Meyer; step-father, John Falduto; brothers, Jerry (Ruth) Cacciotti, Nato (Doris) Cacciotti, Alex (Aldine) Cacciotti, Frank “Buzzy” Cacciotti, Angelo (Leota) Cacciotti; sister, Caroline Longo; brother-in-law, Leonard Wahlen; sons-in-law, Jon Meyer, Jan Lichtig and infant brother and sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 14, 2009, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1533 Erie St., with Rev. John Aiello officiating. Entombment with full military honors will follow at Holy Cross Garden Mausoleum. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family on Sunday at 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the funeral home and on Monday at the church from 9 a.m. until time of Mass. Memorials to St. Joseph Catholic Church have been suggested by the family.
