Frank Skvarca Sr., age 91, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at his home. Frank was born in Sent Jost, Slovenia, on October 4, 1918, son of the late Ivana and Matevz Buh. He was united in marriage to Kristina Dolinar on January 7, 1943; she preceded him in death, October 31, 2003. They came to the United States in 1949. Frank retired from Twin Disc after 26 years of employment with them. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.
Surviving are his four daughters, Stana Erman of Eagle, Irene (Tony) Drab of Warrenville, IL, Nancy (Gerald) DeBoer of Racine, Kristine (Bob) Jarosz of Racine; two sons, Frank (Beatrice) Skvarca Jr. of Racine, John Skvarca of Lakewood; 11 grandchildren, Katherine, Michael, David, Robert, Daniel, Peter, Kevin, Jakob, Kristina, Benjamin and Samuel; and 10 great-grandchildren, Emily, Nicholas, Abigail, Joshua, Mavi, Sophia, Sam, Michaela, Isabella and Pablo; two sisters, Slavka and Ivanka; many nieces and nephews in Canada and Slovenia. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Marie Skvarca; sister, Tilka; and brother, Viktor.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, January 2, 2010, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring St., with Rev. William J. Dietzler officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday at the church from 9 a.m. until time of Mass.
