Ralph P. Larson

Ralph P. Larson, age 85, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2009, at his residence. Ralph was born in Racine, July 27, 1924, son of the late James L. and Amanda L. (Nee: Steingraber) Larson.

Ralph was a graduate of Park High School “Class of 1942.” During World War II he served in the United States Army Air Corps. On May 24, 1952, at St. Patrick Catholic Church he was united in marriage to Beverly J. Tuttle who preceded him in death, February 19, 2000. Ralph was employed by J.I. Case Company for twenty-two years, retiring in 1984. For many years he enjoyed his time helping manage the Racine Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps. Ralph loved fishing. In his younger years he belonged to several bowling leagues. More recently he became a Free and Accepted Mason and also was a member of the Monday night Mt. Pleasant Men’s Schafskopf Club. Most important was time spent with his family and will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his children, Shelley Christensen of Racine, Randy (Lori) Larson of Youngstown, FL, Ross (Rebecca) Larson of Edgar, WI; his eleven grandchildren, Adam (Bonnie) Christensen, Justin and Andrew Christensen, James Larson (fiancée, Shontel Wigfall), Angela (Mike) Ashmore, Amy Lew Larson, Samuel, Emolia, Maxmilian, Sophia and Genevieve Larson; his great-grandchildren, Eavy Christensen and baby Ashmore and baby Christensen on the way; two sisters, Arline Dahlquist of Racine, Mildred Petersen of Racine; sisters-in-law, Ione (Bud) Theres of MI, Donna Euting, Bernice Tuttle, both of Racine; dear friend, Ferne Birdsall; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many other dear friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 14, 2009, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. James F. Peters officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Sunday at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. and Monday at the funeral home from 1:30 p.m. until time of service.
